Make ’em look delicious

Posted on April 26th, 2022

A couple months back, I was contacted by a company called 12 Tides to create bold, delicious-looking images. 12 Tides has a mission to “produce foods that are as good for the ocean as they are for us.” As a B-Corp and 1% for the Planet member, they work with regenerative ocean farmers to create their sustainable, organic puffed kelp chips.

With their messaging down and having successfully communicated their brands mission, 12 Tides wanted to reach new customers. They felt that expanding to a larger audience on Amazon required mouthwatering images of their chips.

When they approached me, 12 Tides wanted their photos to embody movement, bold colors, and stark shadows but most importantly, their chips needed to look appetizing. And we thought, what better way to celebrate delicious food than to share it with friends and family? So we centered this project around the idea of community and bringing people together while keeping a bright, sunny feel (like a day at the beach). To really communicate the brand’s eco-friendly nature, we used sustainable props like bamboo bowls and healthy humus.

The following photos are a sample from the project. Ultimately, I created 9 final images that they could use across their digital marketing including social media, paid social, the 12 Tides website, and their Amazon store.
